The story of Megalópolis
Megalópolis was founded in 2015 with the goal of becoming the first media outlet specialized in providing coverage focused on the seven states that make up Mexico’s most important urban region, closely following developments in Mexico City (CDMX), the State of Mexico (EDOMEX), Querétaro, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Morelos, and Hidalgo.
With an editorial line focused on urban affairs and sustainable urban development, Megalópolis has specialized in key areas of urban journalism, including Environment, Climate Change, Mobility, Transportation, Biocultural Heritage, and Urbanism, while also providing comprehensive coverage of the cultural agenda across the Mexican megalopolis.
A clear example of our commitment to urban journalism and civic engagement was the organization of the “1st International Megalópolis Congress – Resilience of the Great Metropolis” in 2018, featuring internationally recognized leaders and experts in urban development.
